STROKE
(Cerebrovascular Accident)

Definition: Any impairment of the brain or spinal cord that occurs as a result of a blood vessel disorder This can be either a CVA (Cerebrova.scular Accident, Cerebral Infarction, Cerebral Hemorrhage), or a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). A CVA is an interruption of the flow of blood to the brain from abnormalities of occlusion, clogging of vessels, or spasms for a period of more than 24 hours. A TIA is a temporary interruption of the arterial blood supply to a part of the brain.
